The kitchen table is the best platform for families to dish out their hearts. Alongside rushed breakfasts and leisure Saturday brunches are intimate moments and deep conversations about life. The hands that serve the cold cereal and the slow cooked roast are the same hands that bring comfort with back rubs and wipe away tears. Proverbs 31:30-31 “Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” A Kingdom Woman is essential to the home. She is absolutely irreplaceable and her assignment in the kingdom of God is vital. Kingdom Women are at their best when their roles at home come first.
The Word of God guides us when confronted with controversial issues such as; the woman’s place is in the home or women should always put their families first. It definitely strikes a chord within the hearts of women who have excelled in their careers and have chosen NOT to start families. Barren wombs all over the world must scream every time a perfectly capable uterus rebels against the idea of baring a child. It’s our God given right to multiply humanity, to build homes of love and support but, when we forfeit those rights in order to chase ambitions we are boldly telling God that His supreme design for us, as women, is wrong. God’s agenda is bigger than any ambition we have for ourselves and no matter the controversy, career driven women should never belittle the honorable efforts of women who make their homes a priority. Titus 2:5 “…to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.”
Fertility has nothing to do with the accountability a woman has in keeping her home. Neither does marriage. Housekeeping is an anointing given to women that goes beyond washing dishes and mopping floors. It is the mantle of management and an honor of responsibility that God has bestowed upon women. That honor begins in the home and then can freely flow to a career outside of it. The greatest teachings, responsibilities, and roles are in the home so, trying to establish a foundation outside of it is bound to cause problems within it. Kingdom Women should desire to be bosses of their homes as much as they want to be CEOs within the corporate world. Proverbs 31:14-15 “She is like a seagoing ship that brings her food from far away. She rises while it is still night, preparing meals for her family and providing for her women servants.”
While fathers give their children their identities mothers cultivate and nurture the gifts of their children. It’s the perfect formula for successful and healthy children. Fathers discipline and mothers follow up with teaching why children must be disciplined. Fathers coach and instruct while mothers motivate and encourage. The family structure was designed to succeed with two parents with Jesus at the center but, single parent homes, usually with a single mom, can be just as successful when the mother puts her home first. Economic challenges are harder for a mother who is a single parent, it forces her to work multiple jobs and causes her to be absent from her children’s lives just to put food on the table. With every served meal, kiss on the forehead, with every bedtime story read she is implementing the love and care necessary to ensure her home is a safe haven for her children. It’s never an easy situation but with God’s help a Kingdom Woman can keep her family first and can raise Kingdom Children as she waits for a Kingdom Man.
It’s been said by multiple millionaires that the best way to start your day is by making your bed. There’s a science to the efficiency of productivity when you can work in cleanliness. Order. When a woman’s home is in order she is telling God that she is thankful for all He has given her and that she understands the divinity of her role as a keeper of her home. A Kingdom Woman’s hands are anointed by God to manage her time, her home, and her life. Proverbs 31:10 “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.” Her family is her first ministry and it comes before every other ambition and dream she has for herself. Why? She knows that if through the Word of God she handles all there is in managing her home then, she can change the world right there at her kitchen table.
