Remembering Apostle Herman R. Robinson III
Reflections of a Life Well Lived
Apostle Herman R. Robinson, III, began his life’s journey on September 24, 1957 in Charleston, SC. He was born to the late Herman R. Robinson II and Ella Blocker Robinson. He was the oldest of four boys. A brother, Tyrone Robinson, preceded him in death. Apostle Robinson was educated in the public schools of Charleston and graduated from Burke High School in 1975. Following high school, he attended Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, where he received his Bachelor’s degree. Further educational studies led to a Master’s of Divinity in Theology from Virginia Union Seminary. Apostle Robinson was joined in holy matrimony to Sharilyn Bryant Robinson on August 16, 1986. As a couple, they exemplified strong Christian and family values. They gave unselfishly of their time to family members, friends and to others for the betterment of the community. Apostle Robinson received his certificate of ordination from Trinity Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. He started Trinity Church in September 1986. It later became Trinity Worldwide Outreach Ministries.
Apostle Robinson took pleasure in giving back to the community with involvement in various organizations, including Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, the Sertoma Club of Charleston, the Exchange Club of Charleston, Toastmasters International (Early Birds and Soaring Eagles Chapters). He was also a member of the Mayor’s Clergy Advisory Council and the Carolina Catholic Professionals. Apostle Robinson believed that knowledge was power and thus participated in many local Bible Study Groups. Although Apostle Robinson was dearly loved and will be sorely missed, God in his infinite wisdom called him home and ended his early journey on Sunday, January 20, 2019. He is now reunited with his beloved father, brother and grandparents and is resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior who loves him and will keep him in perfect peace for all eternity.
Apostle Robinson will be lovingly missed by his devoted wife, Sharilyn; beloved mother, Ella Blocker Robinson; brothers, James and Alfred; uncle, Benjamin Blocker; father-in-law, William C. Bryant, and a host of family members and countless friends who were blessed to have known him. Apostle Robinson touched the lives of many people with his genuine spirit and abundant generosity. We will take comfort in the precious memories he has left us.
